Park FMX

What is Park FMX? Technically it’s a combination of free-riding and freestyle motocross on a closed course. Sound exciting? It is and it may be the next level of interest form FX, SX and MX riders. Park FMX is the title of a Fuel TV show filmed at the Fiztpatrick farm in Temecula. Creator Doug Parsons brought together 10 of the best FX riders in the world to compete for the first event. The design of the course incorporates BMX, FX and SX influences.
Doug Parson has been riding a motorcycle for over 23 years and has competed in virtually all types of competition. He is committed to supporting his sport and wants to keep pushing the limits. Park FMX is a great start, it gives the riders freedom to attack and develop their attack to the course as they work their way around.

The format of the contest is straightforward. Take 10 of the top rated riders in the world and give them 2 laps around a course that combines FX jumps, MX track and a bit of manufactured elements like Doug’ quarter pipe or wall  and let them ride. At the end of the contest, the riders score each other and the top three take the podium. No judges, no mandatory tricks… just ride, it’s all about style. What happens is the riders keep pushing each other and the creativeness takes over. At the first Park FMX, Twitch decided after his first pass and watching the others, to do a back flip on a 175 foot jump, now you won’t see that at the X Games.

The future of Park FMX is still being decided; we expect to see local events and will keep you posted on them as develop. If you would like to know more about Park FMX you can contact Doug Parsons at sideways1165@gmail.com
